FAQ, or Frequent Asked Question often repeated by different TIFONE users. You can read in this list some of the questions we are most often asked.

Equipment

Condition where two  Fans or Blowers are the one turning in the opposite direction of the other.

The TOWER Fan equipment is an ‘advanced and specialized’ solution, developed for the treatment of modern breeding facilities, of the ‘Palmetta’ type and the like.
The Palmetta form is a type of breeding that has considerable advantages compared to the classic, ancient, so-called full-flower pot breeding.
The Palmetta form is characterized by some points that become important factors, especially in the economic aspect.

In fact, the Palmetta:

  • It has a limited development in height (from 3 to about 5 m)
  • It has a reduced vegetative thickness (from 40 to 80 cm max.)

These features bring great practical and economic advantages:

  1. A more intense and homogeneous solar exposure of the vegetative surfaces, with a greater quantity, quality and uniformity of the fruits,
  2. A great simplification and economy of pruning operations,
  3. A great simplification and economy of harvesting operations,
  4. A great evolution in the field of pesticide treatments, with the possibility of using new so-called TOWER Fans.

TIFONE has paid great attention to this new technical challenge, creating a type of TOWER that guarantees important economic benefits and treatment effectiveness:

  1. Approaching the emission points of the anti-parasitic fog to the middle section and to the top of the plant,
  2. So Best Coverage of extreme high parts,
  3. Excellent Symmetry of Distribution on the Right and on the Left,
  4.  Less Dispersion by aerial drift (- 28%),
  5.  Possibility of considerable reduction in liters / hectare (- 25-45%),
  6. Consequent considerable saving of active principle (- 25-45%).
  7. Furthermore, the TORRE TIFONE has a slender, gently tapered and rounded shape, which prevents any risk of damage and coupling to vegetation and fruit, as can easily happen with the normal bulky ‘ad Armadio’ towers.

The TIFONE TOWER Fan Apparatus is available in three models:

  1. TORRE 28/150, for Palmetta vineyards with inter-row up to 3 m and height up to 3.5 m.
  2. TORRE 32/180, for Palmetta Orchards with inter-row up to 4.5 m and height up to 4.5 m.
  3. TORRE 36/210, for Palmetta Orchards with inter-row also over 5 m and with a height even over 5 m.

The Turbofan is a special TIFONE original fan characterized by some important points:

  1. Printed execution, in steel,
  2. With a printed guide cone, made of steel,
  3. Peripheral spoiler,
  4. Integrated, self-centered and stabilized multiplier
  5. Volume Propeller – Variable power instantly
  6. Safety grille with radial tensors.

Turbofan exists in two versions:

  1. Rear Exhaust (the classic)
  2. Front Suction.

The Turbovector is a TIFONE Special Fan as an Advanced Turbofan Evolution, characterized by:

  1. Printed execution, in steel,
  2. With guide cone,
  3. Peripheral spoiler,

Autofilter

The so-called Self-cleaning Filters are not real self-cleaning filters, as they do not self-clean, do not self-fill, but are simply normal, traditional filters, ‘cleanable’ by actuating a valve that the operator must remember to open from time to time to discharge the debris accumulated inside the filter itself. They are therefore normal filters equipped with a drain cock.
With all the defects of normal filters and that is:

  1. They hold the debris, until they get clogged.
  2. The more they become clogged, the more they create a load loss in the circuit, therefore less pressure on the nozzles, reducing the flow proportionally to the debris accumulated within the filter cartridge.
  3. These “false” self-cleaning filters therefore require a periodic emptying operation, with the discharge of debris.

The discharge takes place through the opening of the faucet on it, then it is discharged to the ground, with a contaminating effect. Today illegal.

These so-called self-cleaning filters are therefore not absolutely self-cleaning, but simply ‘downloadable’ filters through the manual discharge of debris accumulated inside.

The only real one is the AUTOFILTER TIFONE only.

The AUTOFILTER, on the other hand, self-washes continuously and automatically, and does not require any emptying or cleaning work: Never!
THE AUTOFILTER It never gets clogged, so it never produces any pressure loss or pressure to the nozzles.
The AUTOFILTER also prevents pollution from landfill, unlike the so-called ‘false’ Self-cleaning Filters.
The AUTOFILTER is the only Automatic Self-Cleaning Filter that does not require any emptying or cleaning operation.

The AUTOFILTER is an original TIFONE invention.
As is known, the AUTOFILTER is a truly self-cleaning and truly automatic filter, which is continuously “self-flushed”, which keeps it always washed, clean and totally free.
In fact, the AUTOFILTER, unlike normal filters falsely called ‘self-cleaning’, ‘does not retain’ the debris and solid bodies present in the flow, but only acts as a separation barrier between said debris and the line of use.

The destruction-pulverization of debris and foreign bodies present in the flow and coming from the tank, takes place automatically and instantaneously, due to the forced passage of debris and foreign bodies at high pressure-speed through the very narrow ‘gate’ of the return by-pass TIFONE ‘Telecontrol’ Pressure Regulator.
The destruction-pulverization of debris and foreign bodies is instant and total so that none of them can ever return to the tank.
The AUTOFILTER and its function of destruction of debris and foreign bodies is an original exclusive TIFONE idea.

The AUTOFILTER, the absolutely automatic continuous flow delivery filter, is used to ensure that the atomizer’s spray nozzles and that the agitator’s nozzle are never clogged.
The holes of the AUTOFILTER filter cartridge are very fine and also protect the minimum nozzles, such as the ‘Bianco’ type of ATR or the corresponding Cone-Jet of Spraying System. AUTOFILTER is only TIFONE.

The AUTOFILTER is integrated into the ‘Telecontrol-Exact’ TIFONE Pressure Regulators.

The AUTOFILTER is unique in the world: The filter which automates itself continuously, without any operator intervention.
The Automatic Self-Cleaning Filter is an original invention.

The AUTOFILTER is standard on all Models of Trailed and Tractor mounted Sprayers as it is integrated into TIFONE Telecontrol-Exact Pressure Regulators.

The AUTOFILTER has a particularly robust and resistant stainless steel filter cartridge.
However, in the case of frequent use of sandy water or taken from canals, with significant presence of sand or silt, it can, over time, crack.
In this case you will immediately notice the frequent clogging of the nozzles, never occurred before. In this case, it will be sufficient to simply replace the filtering cartridge (see instructions in the DO IT YOURSELF SERVICE).

If the nozzles become clogged, this means that the Autofilter filter cartridge is cracked. This can happen if you use channel or other water that contains sand or silt, or after several years of use of the machine with not perfectly clean water.

  1. Obtain the relative “Cartridge and gaskets” kit from a Tifone dealer or directly from the TIFONE Parts Service Tel. 0532-730 586, Fax 0532-730 588, e-mail tifone@tifone.com,
  2. Disconnect the inlet tube from the brass breech of the Telecontrol,
  3. Unscrew and remove the brass breech,
  4. Extract the filter cartridge and the 2 gaskets (including the inner one, at the bottom, where the filter cartridge rests),
  5. Fit the new internal gasket, at the bottom of the body,
  6. Replace the “Or” gasket on the brass breech
  7. Fit the new cartridge bearing gasket in the brass breech
  8. Insert the new filter cartridge into the body of the Telecontrol, making sure that it is inserted until it is centered, at the bottom
  9. Reassemble the brass breech, making sure that the filter cartridge is properly allocated and is not damaged when the breech is tightened,
  10. Tighten the breech deeply, until it is fully supported against the body of the Telecontrol,
  11. Refit the inlet tube to the brass breech.

Cannon

The TOTAL ANTI-SHOCK is a clutch system against the risk of accidental impacts to the ‘Flexigun’ Cannon, during transfers and during work, in the case of passages limited in height, or in width, or in the event of unexpected obstacles.
In order to protect the ‘Flexigun’ Cannon from serious damage, with work interruptions and onerous repairs, it has introduced the Total Shockproof system (TIFONE Patent).

  • Benefit 1 .. The Total Shockproof system, integrated at the base of the cannon mouthpiece, absorbs any accidental impact to the mouthpiece, if angled.
  •  Benefit. 2 .. The Total Friction Shockproof System also has the additional special advantage of being able to modify the work area on the Horizontal plane as desired, and instantly, allowing treatment even towards corners that are otherwise unreachable.
    The expected ‘Reset’ Collimator -> • allows easy, immediate realignment to the standard angle.

IMPORTANT!
During transfers, keep the mouthpiece of the cannon oriented horizontally with the advantage of:

  • reduce the risk of collision with obstacles,
  • favor absorption by the Anti-shock System.

Note. The system absorbs shocks against the end of the mouthpiece, not on the vertical base structure.

Centrifugal fan with axially concentrated output, for maximum power and maximum throwing distance of anti-parasitic fog.
Available in TIFONE versions:

  • Traditional “Tangential” exit: Cannone 75, range up to 45 m in a greenhouse.
  • “Symmetrical” output with identical emission height if turned Right or Left.

The cannon mouth is equipped with an additional ventral Outlet.
The Ventral Outlet equipped with ON/Off Facility.
Allows to significantly increasing the spray pattern of the Cannon for spraying large vegetation as hedges, slopes, meadows, etc.
The Dual Wide function is present in Flexigun Cannon 50s and Flexigun Cannon 65s.

What is it?
It is a further evolution of the Flexigun system, now equipped with additional lower tangential exit.
The Wide-angle output is equipped with its own nozzle (s) and activation / deactivation system On / Off
What are the advantages?
The Wide Angle Mouthpiece greatly increases the width of the spray brush.
Useful for the rapid treatment of walls, slopes, high hedges, etc.

Drive shaft

The Drive shaft is a very important element and can compromise the operation and the duration of the machine and the safety in work.

  • It must slide freely even under load.
  • It is advisable to prefer the new types of cardans with ‘multilobo’ guide tubes, which ensure better sliding, even over time.
  • The Cardan must be checked frequently, and the sliding surfaces of the two tubes must be kept perfectly clean and lubricated.
  • In case of deformation or crushing, even minimal, of the pipes, the sliding is immediately compromised, with serious personal risks for the Operator and for the operating machine controlled by it. In this case the Cardan must be immediately replaced with a new one of the correct length.
  • IMPORTANT is the Drive shaft Rest Support, which holds it upright when not in use, preventing any contact with mud and dust on the ground or accidental crushing damage.

The Drive shaft is an important and delicate, and even potentially dangerous, organ. It is therefore necessary to keep it in the best protection conditions, even when at rest.
In order to prevent casual damage and prevent it from being damaged by dust or rust, the Resting Drive shaft must be held up and never placed on the ground.
Special ‘Resting Drive shaft Holders’, specific for Worn atomizers and Trailed sprayers are available from TIFONE.

The correct length of the Cardan must be discovered and performed on the specific machine that the Cardano must operate. The rule is expressed in two points:

  1. When the tractor is aligned with the machine, the two sliding tubes of the cardan must be inserted again for ‘at least’ 1/3 of their length,
  2. In conditions of maximum steering, the Cardan must still have a free travel reserve of ‘at least 3 cm.

When it no longer flows freely, or when it is only minimally dented, rusty or otherwise damaged.
In fact, a drive shaft that does not flow freely has the following risks and dangers:

  1. Risk of strong thrust and traction on the pump at every slight change in direction and ground level, with overloading of the bearings, body and feet of the same, to the point of causing serious breakages.
  2. Overload of the crossbars and their bearings, with danger of breakage and unforeseeable risks for the Operator and for any other people present in the area.

The drive shaft with free wheel it is absolutely recommended when using a modern tractor with high power, coupled with an Atomizer with a powerful turbine unit with 42 “(ø 1060 mm) Turbine or Propeller.
In fact, modern tractors are almost all equipped with the so-called “Hydraulic Clutch” on the Power Outlet.
The Hydraulic Clutch determines the instantaneous stopping of the power take-off shaft, which requires an instant stop of the entire series of the mechanical elements commanded by it.
This causes a violent instantaneous overload, with very high torque values, which can cause the elements most stressed by these high values, such as e.g. the speed multipliers. In such cases, it is therefore absolutely recommended to use a transmission cardan shaft with a “Free Wheel” device that transmits motion only in the “power transmission” direction, while it turns “free” in the event of rapid slowing down or rapid stop of the Power socket.
Moreover, device

  • of small footprint
  • of limited surcharge but,
  •   which represents an important element of protection for the operating machine.

YES! The drive shaft is a very important organ to which maximum attention must be given, always:

  • From the moment of the first assembly, to each use and always during the use of the machine.
  • Very important is its length, which must be adapted exactly to the single specific machine, since there is no unification of rudder lengths or distance from the atomizer pump to the shaft from the tractor power take-off.
  • A drive shaft that is too short is very dangerous for the operator because it can break or come off with potentially serious consequences of gravity.
  • A drive shaft too long is very dangerous-damaging for the car because, when cornering, it pushes on the pump and can damage it until it is ‘broken through’.

The drive shaft must therefore be precisely adapted to the single tractor-machine pair to be operated, for a Length that meets the following points:

  1. In the ‘straight’ position the sliding tubes must be inserted one into the other for at least 1/3 of their total length,
  2. In the ‘maximum curve’ position, there must be at least a 3 cm sliding reserve space, so as to guarantee that the system cannot reach the ‘pack’ and press directly on the pump and seriously damage it!

Device designed to hold the cardan raised from the ground when not connected to the tractor PDF.
This is a very useful device, as it prevents the cardan from resting on the ground, on dust and mud, and that it can be seriously damaged by accidental bumps or trampling.
Very practical and functional the Drive shaft Support Stands of TIFONE specific for Trailed and Towed Atomizers.

Electrostatic charge

A New Technique With Real And Visible Results. The theme of the Pesticide spraying, is assuming increasing importance, due to the growing need to achieve more and more advanced, Objectives, including:

  1. Effectiveness of interventions,
  2. Reduction of the number of interventions,
  3. Reduction of losses due to aerial Drift,
  4. Reduction of losses for Results on the ground,
  5. Reduction of chemical Charge per hectare,
  6. Reduction of Energy Consumption (fuel),
  7. Reduction of spray time.

These goals, all of high interest and of increasing weight and attention, both for the environment and food safety and, last but not least, for the a better Farm economy.
So, in order to optimize the spraying as desirable, utilizing new technologies and new aerodynamic attention has come to develop innovative solutions significantly more effective, compared to the state of the art.

Today, spraying assisted by Electrostatic Charge (E±S+) of new generation by
is giving relevant and visible results.
It is known that the electrostatic charge system, in pesticide spraying in agriculture is based on the fact of applying a Positive electrostatic charge (+) to the spray droplets, launched by the Air sprayer.
The optimal use of Electrostatic Charge, however, also requires the optimization of conditions of release and Camera capabilities, electrostatic, and permeation of mist flow electro-loaded, from launch.

The new Electrostatic Charging (E±S+) system by Tifone, is based on the development of the Area subjected to electrostatic charging (Ionization) and efficacy of ionizing emission and efficiency of the “Polarizer” implemented.

Instant power-adjustable propeller

Propeller adjustment allows to decrease or increase, instantly, the Volume of air produced by the spray fan, then the real power of spraying effect, with the following advantages:

  1. Size the power and fit exactly to any kind of tree or herbaceous Crop,
  2. Avoid excess spraying, technically and economically negative,
  3. Minimize losses to Drip to the ground and,
  4. Minimize large losses to aerial Drift,
  5. Allow operating the air-sprayer with very low power tractors,
  6. Allow considerable savings in fuel and tractor,
  7. Considerable noise reduction and less environmental pollution.

Instant Variable propeller for sprayers was invented and realized by TIFONE in 1977.
Since then, it is the heritage and qualitative and functional characteristic of all TIFONE propeller sprayers.

In the normal Variable propeller = ‘not instantaneous, not Tifone’, the adjustment must be made by blade shovel, individually, after loosening a series of screws or bolts, disassembling the propeller completely.
The operation cannot therefore be carried out in the field, but must be carried out in the workshop, where it is also necessary to dismantle the grid, etc., and requires at least 40 minutes. or more.
The normal variable propeller = ‘not instantaneous, not TIFONE’, cannot then be adjusted in the tower fans and in other front suction apparatuses, as it is not directly accessible, except for dismantling the entire fan apparatus.
In the Variable Propeller TIFONE the Regulation is Instant, and takes place in just 6 seconds, and for all 8 blades simultaneously, and can be carried out at any time and place, directly on the field, and with the sole use of the special quick tool , supplied as standard.
The Instant Variable Propeller for sprayers is another of the many original TIFONE inventions.

Useful formulas

  • Calculating liters / min. for which adjust the mistblower to spray a given Volume / Hectare.
  • Calculating liters / hectare corresponding to a delivery in liters / min.
  • Checking the speed of the tractor according to the seconds it takes to cover 100 m.
  • Calculation of n. of Trees present in a hectare.

The Volume per hectare, i.e. the amount of pesticide mixture to be distributed per hectare, is adjusted according to the characteristics of the Plantation to be treated.
It is therefore necessary to be able to quickly calculate the litres / minute match, in order to calibrate the sprayer for Volume / Hectare, as required.
The calculation of litres / minute corresponding to a given volume / hectare, is calculated using the known formula:

Litres / ha x Row Spacing x kph tractor : 600
= litres / minute. Total Left and Right

Spraying

Device to block the spray mixture drip from the nozzle, as soon as feeding is interrupted. There are several types of check Valves applied to nozzles:

  1. DIAPHRAGM type. It is the most common type. Presents the disadvantage of a large footprint that, with nozzles placed in the current flow of the air sprayer, determines major turbulence and consequent distribution of divergences pest fog, which is particularly negative in the works at reduced distance between rows. In addition, the diaphragm system, determines a certain pressure drop in the circuit, to the detriment of the spraying performance.
  2. PISTON type. This system does not have any apparent dimension as it simply replaces the feed screw, which is totally. It has the advantage of not producing any drop in pressure in the circuit, because, once opened, the piston is totally outside the flow path.
  3. S/STEEL BALL type Tifone. It has the advantage of an instant closure and extreme simplicity. Also, does not present external body dimensions because the ball system is totally contained in the stem, for which, the nozzles can be placed even in current, without producing additional turbulence.

The Tangential Emission is a Technique that allows the nozzles to be mounted “outside” of the atomizer fan outlet, with the advantage of:

  • Eliminate the air vortices caused by the size of the nozzles within the air stream,
  • Prevent the air stream from reducing the nozzle emission cone, with loss of diffusion,
  • Avoid the consequent “interruptions” of the fog cover caused by the 2 previous conditions,
  • Instead, obtain a blanket of continuous spraying mist, which ensures even and “soft” distribution of the twigs and leaves and fruits closest to the atomizer.

The Tangential Emission Technique therefore allows:

  • An absolutely more uniform and ‘cover’
  • A possible important reduction in the quantity of mixture required per hectare.

The Tangential Emission is obtained with the special AX-2 and AX-3 nozzles with collar attachment made by TIFONE The Tangential Emission is an original idea from TIFONE.

The flow meter is a device allowing instant measurement and spray flow control provided by the sprayer. Measurable streams from Digital FLOW METER are:

  1. Instant spray flow supplied at the spray RIGHT side.
  2. instant spray flow supplied at the LEFT side.
  3. instant flow RIGHT + LEFT
  4. TOTAL … Temporal Scope, Delivered during a certain period of time.
  5. Scope for treatment provided in a certain plot.
  6. Total Capacity delivered at certain date or time.

The Digital FLOWMETER consists of 2 main elements:

  1. flow detector Group and
  2. computer – Digital Screen.

To ensure a smooth functioning over the time it is essential the flow meter is flushed (cleaned inside) with clean water after each use of the machine. In case of non-functioning, almost certainly this is due to lack of flushing, and consequent sedimentation of chemical.

To restore operation, you need to disassemble it sand remove any residue.

A liter of water contains 1,910,840,196 droplets of 100 micron diameter …… almost 2 billion!
In fact, 1 liter of water corresponds to a drop of 12.05 cm (120.5 mm), which corresponds to 1.910.840.196 droplets with a diameter of 100 µm (micron) (almost 2 billion)
To complete the curiosity we also mention that: 1 liter of water corresponds to 72,463,000,000 drops of 30 µm (over 72 billion).

The ULV-Absolute is the brand new TIFONE Ultra Low Volume system with unique, original features of precision, simplicity and functionality.
The ULV-Absolute TIFONE (Patent Pending) system:

  1. It is applicable to any TIFONE pest control model.
  2. The System is integrated, so:
  3. Does not increase the weight of the machine.
  4. Machine size does not increase.
  5. It does not produce noise.
  6. We move from the Normal Volume to the ULV-Absolute in an instant.

Allows immediate adjustment for 3 levels of VMD 90 micronization:

  • VMD 90 with a spectrum of 40 µm
  • VMD 90 with a spectrum of 30 µm
  • VMD 90 with a spectrum of 27 µm

Circuit flushing system

The Circuit flushing system is used like this:

  1. Always fill the circuit tank with clean water before starting the atomizer.
  2. At the end of the day’s work, with the atomizer running, close the dispensing valves to the nozzles and bring the wash valve lever from the ‘SPRAY’ position (= SPRAYING) to the ‘WASH’ position (= WASH), lever downwards. This way, the pump will suck from the wash tank. As the dispensing valves are closed, the clean water, sucked from the washing tank, will be discharged into the tank, through the pump return circuit. In this way, the residual pesticide mixture within the tank and within the atomizer circuit will then be diluted.
  3. Once the clean water has been completely sucked from the washing tank (about a minute or less), return the wash valve lever to the ‘SPRAY’ position.
  4. Now open the nozzle delivery valves and allow to spray until exhaustion. In this way, both the tank and the entire circuit will be washed and the machine will be ready for the next use, without problems.

When the tank is not empty, but contains a residual Pesticide Mix that you do not want to dilute, the Washing can be limited only to the Circuit that is: pump, filters, pipes, manifolds and nozzles, but excluding the tank of the Pesticide Mix.
To do this, act as follows:

  • Rotate the pressure regulator knob to the maximum,
  • Open the dispensing valves of the nozzle of the fan apparatus,
  • Start the pressure pump and rotate it to the minimum possible speed. In fact, at the minimum speed, the pump produces a very limited flow, always sufficient to do the washing, but without producing excess flow and, therefore, without draining the return water into the tank. Furthermore, the pressure, regulated to the maximum, forces all the flow produced by the pump to exit through nozzles, and not to return to the tank.

The “Circuit flushing system” is a washing system, integrated in the machine, which allows the automatic, simultaneous and very fast washing of all the elements making up its spraying circuit (tank, pump, filters, pipes, manifolds, nozzles, etc.) after each use .
Washing eliminates the pesticide mixture residues, avoiding sedimentation, which would cause subsequent clogging of filters and nozzles, and prevents the strong aggressiveness of pesticides from damaging the rubber parts of the machine (membranes, gaskets, pipes).
The ‘Circuit flushing system’ ensures that the machine will be in the best condition and ready for use each time it is used.
‘Circuit flushing system considerably extends the life of the machine, avoids possible problems during work, and greatly reduces maintenance and repair costs.

When the tank containing the Parasitic Mixture is empty, the Washing will be complete, and will be done as already described. In other words, the entire circuit, pump, filters, manifolds and nozzles will be washed and also inside the tank itself.

Represents a very important equipment in modern Sprayers. It allows the cleaning function (Flushing) of the entire spray circuit of the machine, from the tank until the nozzles (tank, pump, filters, pipes and nozzles), thereby ensuring a speedy and optimal function for each new use and increased durability of the machine. The Circuit Flushing System is standard in all Tifone Sprayers: Tractor mounted, Trailed and Self-propelled.

TIFONE Air Sprayers

What is it ?
It is a new TIFONE idea where the tank is very short and developed upwards in the shape of a tower.
What are the advantages?
The integrated mini tower makes it a new and separate idea.
Together very compact and light (Brev. TIFONE).

Yes, the ‘VECTOR’ TIFONE Line has all the Commands and Service Points on the left side, because this represents a great factor of Security for the Operator.
In fact, the operator normally leaves the tractor from the left side.
So, in this way:

  1. Never lean over the cardan to reach Stitches on the front right side;
  2. He must never pass in front of the fan to reach Commands or Service points on the right side;
  3. He wastes no time in unproductive and boring “walks” around the car.

The advantages of having the circuit wash tank in the bow are different and all important:

  1. An otherwise unused space could be exploited, to the advantage of the compactness of the machine,
  2. The front part of the frame has been transformed into a true rounded bow, which brings great advantages in case of loose muddy ground with strong roadways: the round hemispherical bow slides gently on the ground and on the mud, without creating grooves or traces on the ground;
  3. The weight in the bow significantly lowers the center of gravity, greatly increasing stability and safety, precious qualities when working on a steep slope;
  4. The hemispherical rounded shape of the bow allows you to travel even a few centimeters from the ground, further increasing the stability of the machine;
  5. A smaller and more compact machine was obtained.

Yes, the VECTOR Line has a frame with a hemispherical bow.
The advantages of the “hemispherical bow” are different:

  1. The front part of the frame is perfectly round and has no edges towards the tractor wheels, turning;
  2. The front round part leaves room for the tractor’s wheel, which can make much tighter and shorter turns;
  3. The turning angle is greater, with a smaller rudder;
  4. The machine is shorter and more agile in the entry-exit from the narrow rows;
  5. The bow was then used as a container for washing water in an otherwise unused area;
  6. It was therefore not necessary to extend or raise the machine to find space for the washing tank;
  7. The weight of the washing tank is thus in a very low position, to the advantage of the center of gravity and slope stability;

  1. It is placed on the front side.
  2. It has a mechanical index, not a tube.

  6. It is on a large scale and easily readable even from a distance.

Pump

At least one diaphragms is broken.
All diaphragms and gaskets must be replaced.
The replacement of the diaphragms of the pump is a bit delicate operation that requires some special attention.
If you do not have a precise experience, it is better to contact an authorized workshop or an experienced technician.

In ogni modo occorre rispettare i seguenti passaggi:

  1. Remove the pump from the sprayer
  2. Place it on a clean workbench.
  3. Remove all the heads of the pump and diaphragms.
  4. Empty completely the pump crankcase from oil residue and water, by reversing it (in fact and pumps no longer the drain plug bottom).
  5. Do a thorough cleaning of the interior of pump crankcase with oil, and drain thoroughly out to remove any debris
  6. Dry by a compressed air jet.
  7. Ensure that the mechanical parts (connecting rods, shaft, bearings, pistons) have not been possible damage from prolonged use of the pump, which took place after the rupture of the  diaphragms.
  8. In the event, replace the damaged mechanical parts.
  9. Install the new diaphragms with their nuts and locking disk.
  10. Enter oil, through the filling glass, until it reaches the lower mark on it. .
  11. Discharge air. The total discharge of air is fundamental because if air bubbles remainunder the diaphragms, this can determine its rapid breakdown.
  12. To discharge air, rotate the pump shaft by hand, slowly, until you will see bubbles through the glass level. The rotation of the shaft must be carried out with advantage in alternating directions.
  13. With the expulsion of the air, the oil level will drop. Add oil until the lower mark on the filling glass is maintained.
  14. Continue to rotate the pump shaft in both directions, until no air bubble is present in the filling glass
  15. Once completed the air discharge you can mount the pump back on the sprayer.

IMPORTANT. We repeat: You have to be certain that no air left inside, which would prevent complete filling of oil room between piston and diaphragm, with the emergence of air bubbles that could lead to a rapid re-rupture of the diaphragms themselves. THEREFORE,

  1. Before using the machine definitely, rotate the pump still SLOWLY for 5 min. to 5 bar, for a complete safety with the total air expulsion.
  2. Then, check once again and adjust the Oil level. Remember that, the pump stopped, the Oil level should not exceed the lower mark on the glass.

The pump is one of the most important components in an atomizer, and must always be of the highest quality, in order to ensure continuity of work and almost unlimited duration.

YES. The PUMPS are distinguished by some of their exclusive characteristics of Quality, Functionality and Safety for the Operator, such as:

  1. Connecting rods in bronze (= greater smoothness and longer life);
  2. Double piston rings (= greater volumetric efficiency, flow rate);
  3. Delivery ports in solid brass (= strength and durability);
  4. Suction filter on the left side (= easy access and safety for the Operator);
  5. and directly connected to the pump (= reduction of load losses and the risk of losses and unwanted air aspirations);
  6. Pump rapid emptying valve (= for easy winter emptying).

TIFONE pumps are available in Normal or Bronze versions.

Phytosanitary product

The law requires that empty pesticide containers should be thoroughly washed before being thrown away.
The Washing Procedure can be as follows:

  • Manual Washing
    – Put in the container a quantity of clean water equal to 20% of its capacity.
    – Close the container and carry out at least 3 consecutive and accurate rinses.
    – At each rinse, empty the container and let it drain completely for at least 60 sec.
    – For the containers of 1st class products (with the skull symbol) the washing and relative drips must be repeated at least 6 times.
  • Mechanical Washing:
    – Minimum water flow of the system: 4.5 l / min and pressure at least 3.0 bar.
    – The time of each wash is at least 40 sec. IMPORTANT For containers of 1st class products (with the skull symbol) the washing and relative drips must be repeated at least 6 times.

Active substances and chemical preparations containing one or more principles, intended to protect plants and plant products from all harmful organisms or to prevent their effects, eliminate unwanted plants, eliminate plant parts, brake or prevent their unwanted growth.

Tank

The Automatic Incremental Agitation is a “super-agitation” System that automatically intervenes at each treatment pause (exit and return from / in the rows) and during transfers from the base to the field, after refilling the tank.
The Automatic Incremental Agitation is very useful and effective to guarantee a uniform concentration mixture and to prevent sedimentation at the bottom of the tank.
The Automatic Incremental Agitation system is a TIFONE patent.

Polyethylene today represents the ideal product for the production of tanks suitable for containing chemical anti-parasitic mixtures since it offers the following advantages:

  1. It is perfectly smooth even inside, and largely respects the required level of roughness 0.1 mm.
  2. It keeps the surface smooth over time, as a compact material that does not contain fibers.
  3. Therefore, it is easy to wash also inside, as required by the standards, and allows you to switch to subsequent treatments with different products, without residues and without consequences
  4.  It is elastic material, much less fragile than Fiberglass,
  5.  It is easily repairable by welding, at least for limited, non-structural breaks,
  6. It is much lighter than Fiberglass,
  7. It lends itself to the realization of any shape, allowing the realization of more functional tanks, if well designed,
  8. A polyethylene tank, well designed and well designed, made with high quality molds, allows to reach new and important advantages, for the machine, therefore for the User:
    ► a deeper and more uniform stirring of the mixture,
    ► Prevention of sedimentation of products on the bottom,
    ► Total emptying, with almost no residue.
  9. In fact, polyethylene is a material with a higher technical and industrial level, which however requires considerable effort and various special attentions on the part of the designer, and which requires molds made with specific, particular and expensive technology.

TIFONE has always been at the forefront in the field, it was the first (as early as 1987) to use Polyethylene in a full and industrial way, and to develop original and special tanks, with particular and advanced ideas and qualities, compared to the state of the art . Also for the towed models – see the glorious STORM TIFONE Line with capacity of 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000 liters – a line with double safety frame, for this feature still unique in the world, and made simply with an advance of 5 at 10 and up to 15 years and over, compared to the competition. Not to mention that some competitors continue to produce and sell still today sprayers with fiberglass tanks (as mentioned, illegal, with damage to the customer!)

Important:
►►► It will be useful, in fact, to keep in mind that, since the fiberglass tanks are ‘outlawed’, even the resale of used machines, equipped with this type of tank, is prohibited and illegal, which can greatly aggravate the position of the new owner, in case of checks,
► Inevitable controls, in case of accident, agricultural or road.

Fiberglass, unfortunately Yes, is illegal …
Until a few decades ago, all the pesticide treatment machines, sprayers and others, were equipped with a fiberglass reinforced fiberglass tank. But, since 1985, this material has been declared indirectly “illegal” and it has been condemned to use it for tanks containing chemical products, since, if not immediately from new, but after a short time, it has a roughness greater than the value of 0 , 1 mm, prescribed. This condemnation took place, first, by the German BBA (the body that legislates on equipment for crop protection, in Germany: Merkmal 16.2.1 nach ISO 4287-1) and, subsequently, by the European Commission, which took over to treat the matter at the community level.

The reasons for this condemnation are essentially:

  1. The fiberglass has the internal surface “fibrous”, therefore not smooth.
  2. Certain pesticide products derived from petrochemicals dissolve the resin that binds glass fibers, with the negative consequences that:
  3. The inner wall of the tank becomes increasingly wrinkled, and increasingly holds back pesticide products.

The negative results are:

  1. The tank, even if washed, holds considerable, increasing quantities of product, often not compatible with the product to be used for the subsequent treatment,
  2. In practice, the tank is not perfectly washable, since it does not comply with the conditions of “maximum roughness” of 0.1 mm, as is expressly requested by the BBA and by the EC standards,
  3. In addition, the fibers are increasingly discovered, they are freed away, they circulate, and they immediately reach the filters where, however, they are not all retained, since they are very fine fibers, but they pass easily through the meshes of the filters, if you just orient longitudinally,
  4. The escaped fibers immediately reach the valves of the pump, preventing their perfect closing and decreasing, even considerably, the flow rate and pressure,
  5. A part of the fibers, passed through the pump, arrives at the nozzles, causing frequent fillings, with the tedious consequence of having to stop, disassemble the clogged nozzles, clean them, reassemble them, and then find ourselves in the same conditions one, or a few minutes later … … and so begins an endless story …… stop, come down, dismount, clean, comeback … …… still stuck …!

F2 Probe

  1. Certain that powders and granulates are totally dissolved (if not, they remain on the hatch filter! And you see them!),
  2. no manual contact with plant protection products,
  3. no inhalation of harmful dust,
  4. no need to pour powders or granules into a bucket and dissolve them by hand,
  5. no need to lift the bucket and pour the mixture into the hatch, with all the consequent risks, namely:
  6. no risk of spilling product on yourself or on the ground (personal damage, economic damage and environmental damage),
  7. no risk of finding yourself with large amounts of loose powders or granules settled on the bottom of the tank,
  8. no risk of spraying then, unexpectedly, a mixture with a non-constant concentration and lower than the one you had proposed!
  9. The “Aspire-Dissolve-Transfer” operation is very fast, and takes place in less than 2 minutes.

All obvious advantages, practical and valuable.

The Probe ‘F2’, the perfect, INSTANTANEOUS Aspirator-Dissolver-Transporter of pesticides
It is suitable for aspirating any type of pesticide, powder or granular, directly from the bag or other commercial packaging, and transferring it automatically, already completely dissolved and mixed, to the atomizer hatch filter, avoiding any physical and olfactory contact by the ‘operator.
The ‘F2’ TIFONE Aspirator Probe offers total protection against any risk of contamination, to the detriment of the Operator and the Environment.
The exact dosage of the quantity of powder or granulate to be transferred is carried out by simply placing the bag, or other package containing the product to be aspirated, on a common scale (also of the weighing type, by means of an additional support base) and aspirating with the Probe ‘F2’, until the initial weight of the package has been reduced by the amount to be transferred required.
We underline the important fact that, unlike normal commercial vacuum cleaners, the ‘F2’ probe discharges the product, already dissolved and mixed, into the hatch filter, which allows the operator to check the actual total dissolution of the product, and but not directly inside the tank, which favors sedimentation, with accumulation on the bottom of the products, as happens with normal commercial vacuum cleaners.

Drawbar

The steering drawbar must be mounted on the atomizer so that its steering pivot point falls on the perpendicular of the universal joint connected to the atomizer pump itself.

with the Steering drawbar, in order not to overload the pump-side cardan joint, where the steering angle is very accentuated, it is essential to use a double-joint cardan shaft on the pump side.

The so-called Steering drawbar is a special rudder that reduces the steering angle of the sprayer, allowing you to enter and exit more easily from the narrower rows.
There are different types of Steering drawbar, including the new Campo-Strada Convertible drawbar, which allows the use of the Steering function in ‘Field’ and the Fixed Steering function for use on ‘Road’, where the steering function is not allowed. (see ACCESSORIES, at the bottom of each descriptive Technical Data Sheet of the machine).

YES! it is absolutely important, in fact:

  • Height: In general, the height of the rudder must be such that the frame of the atomizer is parallel to the ground. Non-leveling produces retention of an important quantity of mixture.
  • Length: The ideal length of a drawbar of a trailed sprayer is where the pivot, or rudder attachment pin to the tractor, is:
    – equidistant from the center of the cardan joint on the tractor side, on one side and,
    – equidistant from the center of the cardan joint atomizer side, on the other. In this way, the total steering angle is exactly divided between the two cross bars, thus allowing the maximum steering with the minimum overload for the cardan shaft itself.

YES. In the VECTOR 1000.1500.2000 Liters Line, the drawbar is precisely coupled to the frame structure.
This means less noise during work and longer life.

Nozzles

Device to block the spray mixture drip from the nozzle, as soon as feeding is interrupted. There are several types of check Valves applied to nozzles:

  1. DIAPHRAGM type. It is the most common type. Presents the disadvantage of a large footprint that, with nozzles placed in the current flow of the air sprayer, determines major turbulence and consequent distribution of divergences pest fog, which is particularly negative in the works at reduced distance between rows. In addition, the diaphragm system, determines a certain pressure drop in the circuit, to the detriment of the spraying performance.
  2. PISTON type. This system does not have any apparent dimension as it simply replaces the feed screw, which is totally. It has the advantage of not producing any drop in pressure in the circuit, because, once opened, the piston is totally outside the flow path.
